Steve Fitzpatrick - CWU
Dear Colleagues,
Nuclear weapons are one of the greatest threats to peace that we face. Please join me, UNI Global Union and unions around the world in support of a global movement to abolish nuclear weapons. Our union is proud to be affiliated to UNI Global Union, which represents unions in over 150 nations. Through UNI, we are building unions everywhere and bringing a human face to globalization. In November 2010, UNI Global Union will hold its World Congress in Nagasaki, which we want to be the last place on Earth where nuclear weapons are ever used.

We are joining that call with a new online petition that you can sign to urge the United Nations to make a clear path towards abolition of nuclear weapons in the shortest possible time.

SIGN THE PETITION: http://www.breakingthroughforpeace.org

UNI Global Union aims to present this petition to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the May 2010 UN meeting to review the Nuclear non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
This petition is a chance to add millions of voices to the global campaign for an end to nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. We believe that the world needs to take urgent action to stop the spread of nuclear weapons, and to make the world free of nuclear weapons, as part of the overall drive for worldwide peace and the transfer of military spending to socially-useful ends.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and to send it to your friends. By joining this global campaign to abolish nuclear weapons and create a safer world for future generations, you can make a difference.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE! SIGN THE PETITION! SEND IT ON!

Steve Fitzpartick
