I attach for your information a copy of the Agreement in respect of the Cessation of the Late
Finishes.

The application of this Agreement and  the manner in which Delivery Staff particularly in Sub Offices are dealt with by the Company for late finishes was the subject of discussion at the recent Executive Council meeting.  Arising from this the Executive  requested that Branch Secretaries would endeavour to ensure that claims by Delivery Staff for late finishes are dealt with in a fair and procedurally correct  manner by the Company.  Furthermore also that any disputed claims are documented and dealt with through the agreed procedures.

In this regard, given that Sub Offices now have in place a Company Management presence i.e. DSM
Cluster Managers, it is imperative that  the correct  procedures are adhered to by both Parties.  It will be critical should  disagreed issues be referred to Headquarters, that the correct procedures are followed and most importantly whereby it may be necessary to seek Third Party assistance.  Therefore, Branches should ensure that our members are fully aware of the attached document and the process that they should
follow.

Separately the Company has undertaken to address overloaded deliveries and have put in place at the
Union’s request an additional 18 post testers to conduct post tests and complete revisions.  Under an
existing agreement duties that have on average over a four week period incurred losses in excess of 1hr and 15 minutes per week,  maybe submitted for post testing.

In respect of both of the above, Branch Secretaries in the first instance should seek to have these matters dealt with at local and or Regional Office level and failing satisfactory resolution refer disagreed minutes to Union Headquarters.
