As you are aware the Union’s claim for a salary review for the Delivery Services Managers, as provided for in the Collection and Delivery Agreement, was listed for rehearing at the Labour Court.
However, following direct discussions at Senior Management level at An Post the Union agreed this morning not to proceed with the Hearing at this stage. The reason for this is the Company’s agreement to enter into direct discussions with the Union for an intensive period to be completed within a short time scale of 3 to 4 weeks. In agreeing to a postponement of the Labour Court Hearing the Union is satisfied that the pay aspirations of the Union as envisaged from the Labour Court Hearing in November 2005 can be achieved. The Union is also satisfied that the further assurances given by the Company for real and meaningful discussions presents the opportunity to finalise this matter without the necessity of the Courts assistance. Over the coming weeks the Union will endeavour to complete these discussions to the satisfaction of our members without any further delays. |
