Chairperson’s Course
Wednesday April 9th – Friday April 11th 2008 (3 days)
Venue: Union Head Office
All newly elected Chairpersons are required to attend this course, as well as any Chairperson who may not have had the opportunity to attend in the past.

Branch Secretary Stage 1 Course
Monday April 14th – Friday April 18th 2008 (5 days)

All newly elected Branch Secretaries are required to attend the Stage 1 course, as well as any Branch Secretary who may not have had the opportunity to attend in the past.

Assistant/Section Secretary & Vice-Chairperson Training Course
Wednesday May 21st – Thursday May 22nd (2 days)
Venue: Head Office
This is a new course added this year to our training suite and is in recognition of the vital role that the Assistant/ Section Secretary & Vice-Chairperson play on their local Branch.  Nominations are invited for all who require this training.

Committee Courses
2 half days, dates to be agreed.
Venue: To be agreed with the local committees
The Education committee are considering making courses available at different venues around the country. However, availability will be based on the level of interest in each location. Subject to numbers, the Union is also happy to facilitate Branches who have their own individual requirements for committee training. Please contact Carol Scheffer directly to discuss your requirements. All newly elected Committee members are required to attend the course as well as Committee members who may not have had the opportunity to attend in the past.

Branch Secretary Stage 2
5 days, dates to be agreed.

This course should be attended by Branch Secretaries who have completed Stage 1 and are in their second or consecutive term as Branch Secretary. This course is subject to numbers requiring the training, therefore nominations are invited to assess the demand for the course.

An Post Treasurer’s Course
1 day, dates to be agreed.
All newly elected Treasurers should be nominated to attend the course as well as Treasurers who may not have had the opportunity to attend in the past.This course is subject to numbers requiring the training therefore nominations are invited to assess the demand for the course.

I would ask that you fill in the relevant nomination form for the course you wish to attend so that we have your details recorded.   Please also note that all of the forms can be downloaded from our website www.cwuconnect.org (under Union Education).    Members wishing to access the Members Area of the site for the first time will be required to signup using the “Register” link on the left hand menu.

It is essential that members who applied for training in previous years send in a new nomination form, as participants for all the above courses will be selected only on receipt of the current nomination forms.
