I wish to update you in respect of a number of matters relating to Collection and Delivery.

Phase 2 – Payment of the C&D Change Allowance
You will be aware the Unions claim for payment of the Phase 2 C&D Change Allowance as and from 16th January 2007 was referred to the Monitoring Group.  I attach for your information a copy of their determination which the Union regards to be most satisfactory.

The Union has been advised that this matter will be considered by the Board of An Post at its September meeting and it is anticipated arrangements for payment will be approved by them.

Implementation of first 6 Offices
Dublin 10 ............... 7 weeks in operation
Dublin  1 ................ Target is second week in October Under Discussion
Dublin 4 ................. First week in October    Agreed
Dublin 5 ................. Third week in September  Agreed
Dublin 17 ............... Third week in September  Agreed
Enniscorthy ............ Fourth week in September  Agreed

Next Phase of Offices
The Company has advised the Union and Monitoring Group of the next phase of offices which they are currently working on as follows:

• Carrigaline & Ballincollig, Cork
• Galway, Naas,Limerick
• Dublin 3, 6W, 24 and Blackrock

The Company further outlined that all going well with its plans that its target is to implement Carrigaline and Ballincollig early in November and Dublin 3 and 6W by mid-November.

On receipt of confirmation from An Post they are ready to commence the agreed consultation process, Union Headquarters will meet with the Branches concerned.
