The Union met with eircom on Wednesday, 11th July 2007 where the Company tabled a document, similar to the one already rejected.  Unions consider it goes way beyond the concept of normal ongoing change as specified in Towards 2016.

The Company continued to insist on pre-conditions before payment is made.  This is not acceptable to the Unions, who, acting in a co-ordinated manner, will now proceed in line with ballot outcomes and members will be advised of details of co-ordinated industrial action in due course. Seven days notice of industrial action was formerly served today (12th July 2007) on eircom as provided for under the 1990 Industrial Relations Act.

I am also attaching for information purposes the second document presented to the Unions and a copy of the points agreed at JCC in regard to the payment of the 1st phase in November 2006 as great emphasis is being made on this agreement at this time.
