I refer you to An Post GS Circular No 13/07 issued on the 2nd April 2007.

Following detailed discussions with the Company the immediate issues of concern relating to our members in the Sales and Customer Services Area have been addressed. Their situation as a result of these discussions is as follows:

• The deadline of the 30th March 2007 as set by the Company for compulsory transfer to the new venture will not apply.
• The Managers concerned remain An Post employees retaining their terms and conditions and they will retain their current workload including Postpoint related work.
• The Company has confirmed in writing that in the event of further proposed changes, that these will be negotiated and agreed with the Union in advance.
• Staff will have full clarification in advance in respect of any proposed move to the Joint Venture so that they can make an informed decision.

In respect of the other general issues of concern the Company has committed to addressing these with the Union.

Consequently, the Union has decided to restore its cooperation with the preparations for the launch of the venture. I would appreciate if you would advise all of our members concerned.
