I refer you to previous correspondence in connection with the proposed Joint Venture between An Post/Fortis. As you are aware the Union has been attempting to progress the issues identified by the Union in parallel with dealing with the Company’s agenda in order to provide for the establishment of the new Joint Venture Company. However, the Union is in receipt of correspondence from the Company today, the content of which is entirely unacceptable as it fails to address any of the Union’s concern. Furthermore, the Company is attempting to force our members in the Sales and Customer Services Area to make an immediate decision as to whether they want to transfer to the Joint Venture or stay in their current position. This, in circumstances where neither the individuals nor the Union has all of the information necessary to make such a decision It is regretful therefore, that given the failure on the Company’s part the Union has been left with no alternative but to suspend its co-operation with the plans for the new Joint Venture with An Post Management until such time as all of the issues identified by the Union are resolved. Based on the above members are instructed not to cooperate with any aspect of this Venture, including training etc. until further notice. |
