The CWU delegation conveyed in the strongest possible terms the fears and concerns of An Post workers who stand to be hardest hit by the current liberalisation agenda being pursued by the European Commission.   The delegation requested that the Ambassador pass on the position paper to the relevant people in Finland and convey on behalf of the CWU the serious concern of its members regarding the threat these proposals represent to their job security as well as the integrity of the postal network in Ireland.

Mr Kauppila agreed to covey the Union’s message and the UNI position paper to his colleagues in Helsinki.
