EU Postal Liberalisation Petition - Your support is needed NOW! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 29 January 2007

The European Commission has taken the final step on the path towards the total liberalisation of the postal services by proposing that the distribution of "small" mail by our postmen be opened to free competition on 1 January 2009, this being the last sector which has not yet been liberalised.

SOSA website has been set up by a Belgian MEP, Alain Hutchinson called SOSPoste.eu where European citizens can sign a petition online.

The CWU has given its full backing for this initiative and encourages everyone to complete the petition to oppose the total liberalisation of the postal service.

UNI-Europa Postal also calls on everybody to take an active role in encouraging others to support the petition to show the European Commission that citizens across the EU are opposed to total liberalisation of the postal service.

The website is available in 20 languages.
